Art Gallery Exhibit Launch

We  had our first Gallery Exhibit this month.  It has been an interesting experience for us.  Exhibiting African American dolls at the Open Space Arts Gallery in Prince William County for Black History Month is a fantastic way to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and artistic contributions of the African American community. It provides an opportunity to showcase the craftsmanship and creativity Fiber Artistry while also honoring the diversity and history of African Americans in creating such Artistry. Such an exhibition can serve as a platform for raising awareness about the significance of representation in art and highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting cultural heritage. It's also a chance to engage with the community and spark conversations about the stories and inspirations behind the dolls, as well as the broader themes of identity, history, and creativity.Events like these contribute to fostering a sense of inclusivity and appreciation for diverse perspectives in the arts, while also providing a space for reflection and celebration during Black History Month. It's a great initiative that can inspire and educate people of all backgrounds. There was another fiber artist represented at this exhibit, Barbette Foster, Barbette's Crochet Crafts, some of whose art has already sold. The Art Gallery is a part of the Prince William Arts Council and has a prime location at 15000 Potomac Town Place, Suite # 140, in Woodbridge, Virginia.

The Gallery has great opportunities for learning to create all types of art and expressing your creativity and ways to volunteer your services. You can donate your time and talent to the arts community as well as your dollars to help build a place to expand our arts community here in the Virginia area. If you're in the Stonebridge Shopping Plaza stop by and see them. You won't be disappointed.
